Parking Services encourages anyone who has lost property while at CSUMB to check Lost and Found to see if the property was turned in. A large amount of property remains unclaimed. Items include clothing, jewelry, glasses, keys, and books.

Lost & found items with an estimated value of less than $50 are kept in the Parking Services office; whereas, property with an estimated value of over $50 or any other property not qualifying as Lost and Found (such as cash over $5; vehicles, including bicycles; or possible evidence, including illegal property) is booked as evidence or found property by a police officer.

Claiming Lost and Found Property

The Parking Services office will hold lost and found property for a maximum of three (3) months. Persons seeking to claim their lost property shall provide a detailed verbal description of the item(s) and the approximate location and date it was lost. Written descriptions and written verification of ownership are desirable. If any descriptions match the lost item, the claimant will be shown the item(s). Property that is identified by a claimant and closely matches the property description shall be returned to the claimant only if the claimant can produce valid photo identification.
